Little Angels Day Nursery - Quality Childcare in the East of England

Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum at Little Angels

In September 2008 the EYFS curriculum came into force.

This brings together:

Curriculum guidance for the foundation stage: 2000

Birth to Three Matters Framework: 2002

National Standards for Under Eight’s: 2003

The main focus of the EYFS is to value each child and their family as unique with different needs and concerns.

The aim of the EYFS is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes...

  • Staying Safe
  • Being Healthy
  • Enjoying and Achieving
  • Making a Positive Contribution
  • Achieving Economic Well Being

The planning is undertaken on a weekly basis with particular emphasis on the individual child. This starts by observing children and considering their current interests, development and learning.

Your child’s key worker will plan activities which are challenging but achievable.

From the moment you come to view the Nursery you will be aware that detailed records are kept (The Learning Journey and Tracker 0- 5 books.)

Please do ask to see them, feel free to take them home at any time your contribution to these is invaluable.

The daily record sheets for the under two’s are to inform you of the care received i.e. feeding /sleeping patterns.

It’s the Learning journey and Tracker 0-5 books which will give you detailed developmental information.

Staff Training

It is the ethos of Little Angels to actively encourage all staff to progress their professional development in order to provide your child with the best quality care which is up to date and in the moment.

All staff hold all statutory qualifications: Safe-guarding Children First Aid and Food Hygiene.

Key Worker System

It is crucial that staff and parents/carers work in partnership to foster the development of children in our care.

We understand that parents are the child’s first educator shaping their child’s personalities and development. As such we will work with you to help your child achieve their full potential.

Your child will be allocated a specific member of staff and you we be informed of this the day your child starts with us.

We employ a system which allocates age ranges to specific staff we find we can best meet your and your child’s needs this way.

Key Worker training has been undertaken by Joan, Amanda, Fiona and Becky.
